My Age of Seven

After waking up one day, a seven-year old girl finds her room overgrown with trees and damp with water. In a sudden moment, she gets an ominous and uneasy feeling: Oh no! Mommy is gone.
The story begins on this strange morning.

In Won Seong Won’ My Age of Seven series, each photograph works as an episode and becomes part of a grand unified narrative. Each of the eleven photographs appears to be a result of detailed manual work and high standard compositions. Thanks to digital techniques, the artist recomposes these sublime narrative panoramas, full of idyllic and surreal landscapes, emanating from her childhood fantasies. My Age of Seven series is full of symbolism and nourished by tales and Korean legends. This is a personal work for the artist, reminiscence of the still rural Korea, where she grown up.
